Job Summary

This position will work closely with the Account Executive and Lighting Coordinator to engineer lighting design projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for the daily tasks of engineering, designing and estimating outdoor lighting systems according to the NEC code. This position will require the selective candidate to manage several projects at a time for commercial and industrial customers. Candidate must be able to effectively prepare job packages, work closely with storekeepers, venders, internal and external customers to ensure work is completed on time with a high attention to detail. This individual will also assist with periodic updated scheduling meetings to ensure all projects are meeting the desired committed service dates. The individual must also be able to use the following technical application (AutoCAD) for designing jobs. This position will be filled at Level 3-5 based on the successful candidate’s work experience. This position is located in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare jobs in a timely manner to satisfy customer's committed date

  • Establish and maintain a working relationship with internal team (sales rep, coordinator, billing, leadership team)

  • Verify voltage drop, ampere rating of wire and fuse sizes

  • Obtain any required permits for projects (DOT, State, City, County, etc.)

  • Estimate job cost and order material

  • Verify job sites to determine and minimize all hazards to installation and share this information with construction team.

  • Manage multiple projects with an attention to job design detail

  • Verify all construction charges upon completion and reconcile material and other charges as necessary

  • Close jobs in a timely manner and meet monthly compliance requirements

Education & Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of distribution engineering or lighting engineering experience preferred

  • Knowledge of NEC code book preferred

  • High aptitude of analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
